Pop of Color

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great long weekend. Jacob and I laid low and had a great time! We are still waiting on baby girl to make her appearance and Jacob is getting more and more impatient by the day.

One thing I have learned about myself since starting this blog is that in general I like neutral classic pieces with a fun accent color or non-traditional piece to pull it all together.

Black and White

Hi all!

I hope everyone is having a great morning! If you're watching the news you might know that S Fla is in the midst of a tropical depression so it is a rainy, rainy day. I'm glad that I have a lot of things I need to get done without leaving the house today so I'm not complaining. I hate having to venture out in the rain so I'll be home cleaning and organizing today.

One color combo I have been coming across a lot and loving is the very classic black and white. While I doubt I will ever do a whole room in strictly black and white, I do love this color combo as a fun twist in a zebra or striped rug. Here are some of my favorite black and white images, all found here.

Color Scheme

Happy Friday!

Well, friends I was hoping to share my big dresser redo reveal but I am not finished. I am still on the hunt for knobs that don't cost more than $5 each since I need 12 and I think I may have come across some at World Market. So I might be driving the 40 minutes today to get them if I can verify they have them in store. I will have the reveal for you next week. I promise!

As I was trying to think of what to post about this morning it occurred to me that I am always drawn to blue color schemes. Now, this is not a newsflash to me and I certainly get it honest because my mom decorated our house growing up in various shades of blue (hi mom!) so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Anyway, as I have grown older I have tried to expand my horizons and I have fallen in love with green as well. But generally speaking when I see something and if it comes in blue (or green) that is usually my first choice.

Gray, gray, gray

Hello there!

Jacob and I are out of town this weekend so I have scheduled posts so you won't be left all alone. ;) One thing that is "in" now in the decor world is gray. Everywhere. So, in my attempt to gain inspiration for a post I went to one of my favorite sites, DecorPad simply searched for gray rooms. Here is what they came up with that I love:

I'm a huge fan of subway tile

If it's tufted, I'll probably love it so that is what initially drew my eye to this room but then it was the fact they paired gold with gray, which is different and looks beautiful here

I love a pedestal table

I love the textured (looks like grasscloth wallpaper) and the detailing on the stairs

So clean and crisp

I love this look for a formal living room

Another look I love for a sitting room this one is a bit more traditional

I love the different fabrics and textures and the nailhead trim doesn't hurt either

I would love a butler's pantry someday, swoon!

Color Scheme: Blue

Hello!

Today I'm continuing my color scheme series with the color blue. I don't know about you but I grew up with a mother that loved blue so I love blue. Our house had various shades of blue throughout and it seems to be my default color.....if it's blue I'll probably like it (within reason). I'm blond with blue eyes so I look good in blue so I have to try to make sure my whole wardrobe isn't blue. ;)

I love plants and I have them throughout our home. I love this planter idea and think it would look great inside too!

Pillows are an easy way to incorporate color either on a couch, chair, or bed.

I am dying for a mirror like this and have been on the hunt at local thrift stores. A can of spray paint and about 10 minutes and you are all set!

Painting a piece of furniture is always an easy and affordable idea
