Tatum

I'm sad to write that our beloved Tatum passed away last Wednesday morning.

He was perfectly fine the day before.....I gave him a bath, he laid on the deck in the sun for hours, drank out of the spigot outside (which he loves) and he went to bed with us like he always does. I brought up his blanket (I had just washed it) and he fluffed it into a bed, I scratched his butt and he put his paws up on the bed for Jacob to pet him and we said goodnight. He was all comfy this morning on his blanket, so I thought. He left us sometime in the night without a sound in his sleep. It is fitting that even in his final moment he did not think to trouble us or even wake us up.

We are so happy Madeleine knew you and that we captured this image

Tatum-you were the best dog we will ever have. Thank you for all that you taught us and for being our first baby. We loved traveling with you and we know you loved being in the car. We miss you so much. The house just isn't the same with out you snoring and farting in the next room. You will be forever in our hearts and minds.

Everybody who knew Tatum, loved him.

We love you more than you will ever know. We can't wait to see you again one day.

Happy Sunday!

Good morning!

After a lazy Saturday yesterday I have the same plan for today. It's just too hot and I'm too tired to do much of anything. I did however weed my flower beds yesterday, so I can feel good about that. :)

I'm happy to say that baby girl is full term! Here I am at 37 weeks. Won't be long now!

I hope you have a relaxing Sunday like Tatum and I plan to

Have a great day!

Hi! My name is Oliver!

Hello blogland!

My name is Oliver! I like to use lots of exclamation points because I'm very excited! All the time! ! I am a Papillon and I'm a year old!
Okay, that's annoying. Oliver is the newest addition to our family. We got him August of 09 here in Florida and he really is a character. One minute he is running circles around the living room (and Tatum) and then next he's asleep on my laptop....as I'm trying to type.

Oliver has been such a great addition to our already wonderful family. Tatum is a whole new dog with his new energetic little brother running around (literally). We never knew how high Tatum could jump or all the weird doggie grunts he could make while playing with Oliver until our little Papillon joined the family.

I wish I could say that the cats love Oliver as much as Tatum does....but for the most part they tolerate each other. The problem is that Oliver wants to play with the kitties, while they just want to be left alone. Anyone have any advice?

Have a great day!

Doggie Art

Good afternoon!

This last Friday I ran across this picture in blogland and forgive me but I didn't save where it is from.
If anyone knows let me know so I can give proper credit.

Well, it immediately made me think of our two doggies Tatum (English Bulldog) and Oliver (Papillon) and how I would love to have something like this of them. My creative juices started flowing as I googled English Bulldog and Papillon silhouettes. Sure enough within a minute or two I had pulled two images up that I felt like were good representations of our pups and was printing them off.

A quick run to Michael's and I had a canvas (used 40% off coupon so it was only $5). I blew up and cut out the silhouettes and then traced them onto the canvas. Next I carefully painted in the lines of my tracing and once that dried I carefully went around the outside in a light green.

Since I already had the paint this whole project cost $5 and took about 1 1/2 hours (paint had to dry).

Here's my interpretation with Tatey and Oliver.

I hung it in our entryway where we already have a few pictures of the dogs and where their leashes hang.

A great project for a rainy day!

Hello! My name is Tatum

Hello! My name is Tatum and I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I enjoy long walks in the park, the ocean breeze....

Okay, no really I mostly like taking naps. Oh, and not be left out......I like being on the couch and/or bed, or really anywhere fluffy. A normal day for me consists of waking up by a series of shakes and nudges, I then begrudingly walk downstairs and go out to do my "bidnezz." After coming in I plop down and...........I'm there until around dinnertime when I go out again and then resume my napping position on my bed. Overnight I sleep upstairs unless I'm scared of something up there like the curtains, or closet door, or something like that, which happens about once a week.

Anyway, I have a pretty great life although I would never let you know it by the look on my face.
