Good morning!
I am happy to finally reveal the completed nursery. Jacob and I both feel really good about it! From the beginning I knew I didn't want a girly-girl feel with a ton of pink but rather something that felt feminine and airy, I think I accomplished my goal.
These are the fabrics that we started with several months ago. I ended up adding in one more for the inner part of the bumper, it's a bird fabric I think she will like looking at as she grows.
Hold on to your hat because there are a ton of pictures!
Here is her bookcase filled with mementos, pictures, and of course books
This is your view from the door
The nursery has been mostly finished for weeks with the exception of choosing prints. I was stuck on it for a long time but I am happy with my decision.
(Left-redheaded little girl reading a book to animals, Middle-elephant with a rabbit on his trunk, Right-blond little girl holding a kitty)
This chair was given to us by Jacob's dad and is something many of the men and women in his family have sat in as children. It was originally embroidered by our baby girl's great x5 grandmother. Amazing!
Here is the other side of the room. The mirror was an ugly gold framed picture that I took apart, spray painted white and had a mirror cut for. The mobile is white and pink paper butterflies
We are in love with the glider/rocker because it is so comfortable and I love the fabric! Perfect for reading books and rocking to sleep!
I love this print! It features the alphabet in French, which is perfect!
Other details include this picture taken by my good friend, Liz and the deer given to me by my dad when I was a little girl
This frame holds a special place in my heart because it is my late grandmas. On the left is my grandma, Vivian and her picture is mounted on her handkerchief. My mom's mom Gladys is on the right and above her is the only piece of her I have since we lost my grandpa and their house in a fire. It is a piece of a coffee mug that I remember her using and it's something I found in the rubble, it's a picture of a butterfly, which fits perfectly with the nursery. This is my way of bringing them into the room because I know they would love to meet their great granddaughter
The pink shoes are from my mom, I used to have pink shoes and would throw a fit (as a 5 year old) when I had to wear them and they didn't match my outfit.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour of our little girl's room!
Emily

Hi-
DeleteI am searching for the French alphabet print on etsy now. I found it under another shop. Please tell me the size print, plus the size frame you chose. It looks perfect over the rocker, not too big, not too small and my nursery is set up similarly.
Thank you!
Love everything about this room!! Can I ask where the glider is from? Brand??
ReplyDeleteand the bookshelf??
ReplyDeleteKora-the glider is Little Castle Valentino and was purchased at a local store and the bookshelf is the Cameron from PBK
ReplyDeleteWho designed the fabrics? I am particularly in love with the curtain fabric and the pink and white found on the bumper. I'm in love with this little girl's room!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lyndsay! The damask and pink fabrics are from www.babybedding.com
ReplyDeleteIts a small thing but I really like your floor lamp. Most of the ones I find are so flimsy looking. Mind sharing your source?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Nicole- the lamp is from Macy's online :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I love the nursery and the combination of colors! Can you please share the paint color and brand? I'm looking for the same pale blue/gray color. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThe paint color is SW Blue Horizons. It's a light blue shade (not as gray as it appears in the pictures).
ReplyDeleteHi There!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the nursery! Where did you get the mobile from??
ReplyDeleteKvestrand- the mobile is from PBK
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so gracious with your info! I have been SEARCHING for fabric for my daughter's curtains that we both can agree on. Ugh! She and I both loved what you used - ordering today!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found curtains! :)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get your window treatments from?? They are great!
ReplyDeleteBrooke-I made them with fabric from babybedding.com :)
ReplyDeleteEmily, one more thing...can you tell me the size of the 3 prints? Thank you. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Emily. One more thing...what size frame and prints did you use? Thank you for being willing to share. :)
ReplyDeleteThe prints are 8x10 and the frames are RIBBA from IKEA that fit 8x10 prints! :)
DeleteHi-
DeleteIs the French alphabet print over the rocker also 8 x10? What is the frame size? Just love it.
Thank you!
This is gorg!! Is that the Pottery Barn Kids Mia Chandalier?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, it is! :)
DeleteOhh great!! It is at the top of my list - and it helps so much to see it in a real life room - vs. a staged PBK room! Love what you've done!!
DeleteI certainly understand. If you want to be featured on the blog send me an email with a few pics when your room is completed! Thanks!
