Hi all!
I hope you have had a wonderful few weeks. I must say that our couple of weeks have been a whirlwind but we made it to KY and are finally getting settled. The 18 hour drive ended up not being too bad despite my pregnant bladder and my aching back. We closed on the house and jumped right into home ownership with buying new appliances and cleaning from top to bottom. The movers arrived last Sunday and we sat in a 47 degree house (seriously, I have a picture of the thermostat) while the movers moved in our things.
My lovely husband arranged for us to be unpacked this time because I'm pregnant and it's getting harder and harder to get around not to mention lift things. So after buying the house on Friday we were all moved in and well on our way to being settled with almost no boxes intact on Monday. Not too shabby. We had the help of my mom and honestly I don't think we could have done it without her.
We're at the stage where everything is put away (maybe not in the location it will stay but put away none the less) and the house is clean. My mother in law arrives today to stay for a week to help us paint and just do things around the house. We spent the weekend tearing out the handicap ramp in our garage so we both can park in there, patching holes in walls from the handicap bars we took out in 2 bathrooms, installing a cat door, and lots lots more.
Whew......you still with me. That recap ended up being a bit longer than I anticipated. :)
Anyway, I look forward to sharing more projects with you and many room transformations in the upcoming months.
Here are a few pictures of our trip:
Tatum was the only pet who loved the car trip
We made it!
I told you....
Have a great day!!

Sounds like you have had a LOT going on! I'm so excited to follow along as you get it all fixed up the way you want it:) You'll have it looking fabulous in no time, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all made it safely and are pretty much settled!! So exciting, can't wait to see pictures! (no pressure, just excited for whenever you do get some up =)
ReplyDeleteI meant to tell you about this website I just found out about not too long ago- my.freecycle.org It's basically a craigslist but all items are free and you must register for the group(s) in your areas. It's to prevent still-usable things from going to the landfill. Anyhow, I thought of you because I've seen some pieces of furniture that would be great for refurbishing! You should check it out and see what your fellow Kentuckians have that you can turn into something absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Laura-I have seen that website but never had any luck. Maybe I'll try it out here. :)
