Pop of Color

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great long weekend. Jacob and I laid low and had a great time! We are still waiting on baby girl to make her appearance and Jacob is getting more and more impatient by the day.

One thing I have learned about myself since starting this blog is that in general I like neutral classic pieces with a fun accent color or non-traditional piece to pull it all together.

Here are some images I ran across this morning that showcase a fun pop of color!

Are you an accent color person like I am?

Eye Candy

Hello!

I'm tired this morning so I'm going to post a lot of pictures, k? At least I'm keeping it honest! :)

How are you spending your long weekend? We are lying low and waiting for baby girl to make her arrival!

If money were no object...

Hi all!

If money were no object then I would have the following items!

I love a Chippendale chair! I would mix these with other fabric chairs for our dining room.

I have always wanted one of these poufs.
I love this aluminum side table

I think this Regency lamp would look awesome in the formal living room

2 chairs like this at the head of our (nonexistent) dining table would look great

I would definitely hire a professional landscaper

A tufted fabric sofa has been on my list for forever!

Finally, I would have 2 of these abacus chairs for the living room

What is on your wish list? If money was no object what would you be buying?

Hi all!

Today I wanted to share with you images from the designer, Elizabeth Dinkel's portfolio. She is a nationally recognized interior designer that I have come across a few times. This morning while trying to decide what to post about I decided to check out her portfolio. When I came across these beautiful images I knew I had to share them with you all.

I love her style! All images found here

Hope you have a great day!

Nursery Before and After

Good morning!

Since you all have seen the big nursery reveal post, I figured I would show you how we got there and were we came from!

We started with a small room (the smallest but the closest to our room) with builder basic tan walls. After much consideration we went with SW Blue Horizon as the color (it's the middle one).

Here is the before. There were a few funky spots on the walls so Jacob primed those first.

(you can see my tape marks of where the furniture would go)

It only took us a few hours to do the first coat and then about an hour the next evening to finish. Super easy compared to what we were used to in the large open rooms downstairs.

Next came putting together the crib. I ordered it on amazon to save a bit of money!

Proud Papa!

Then we made the drive to IKEA and picked up the Hemnes 8 drawer dresser. I went back and forth as to whether we should spend more money on a dresser and buy her a quality piece that would last her through high school. Ultimately, I decided if she's anything like me she will have an opinion and could pick something out she really likes when she gets older.

Once we had the crib and dresser in place we waited for the chair and ottoman to arrive. From there I ordered the bedding and started on the curtains. Next came the bookcase and all the fun detail stuff. The prints were the last thing I decided on.

As they say, the rest is history!

Have a great day!
