Big News!

Hi all!

The reason for the push to change M to a big girl room is that we are expecting baby #2!  We are thrilled though if M really understood I think she wouldn't be so happy. ;)

I'm excited to start on a new nursery here in a few weeks when we find out the sex.  I'll be sure to share that process here! :)

Happy Halloween!

Let's Recap Shall We?

Hello!

In honor of switching up M's room I thought it would be fun to remember where we started when we bought our house almost 3 years ago.  There were some funky stains on the walls hence the primer and please notice my OCD taping out of furniture.  It's my favorite way to confirm things will fit since I'm such a visual person. :)

Here is M's room a month before she was born.  Everything is still the same just picture the shelves being more filled with books and books all over the floor.  We definitely have a little reader on our hands.

A source list since I never did a formal one on the original nursery reveal:

Paint:  SW Blue Horizon
Bookcase:  Cameron PBK
Crib:  Jenny Lind purchased on Amazon
Dresser:  Hemnes from Ikea
Chair and Ottoman:  Little CastleValentino ordered in custom fabric from a local store
Bedding:  Custom made through babybedding.com
Curtains:  Handmade from fabric from babybedding.com
Blue Lamp:  Pottery Barn
Floor Lamp:  Macy's online
Butterfly Mobile:  PBK
Prints Above Crib:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/trafalgarssquare?ref=pr_shop
French Alphabet Print:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/60093392/limited-edition-bibitty-11x14-french?ref=listing-shop-header-3

Her room was definitely a labor of love and it is a room that I feel turned out better than I could have imagined!  It's sad to think about changing it up but I know it is only the first of many times :)

Big Girl Room

Happy Saturday!

We finally have a weekend at home and we are looking forward to picking and carving pumpkins and having some family time!  I thought I should share what I have been up to design-wise.  We are planning to move M into a big girl bed and switch her room around a bit.  We are going to use the full size bed we have in the guest room and get a new dresser, bedding, chair, and curtains!  I don't want to repaint so we are keeping the very light blue walls.

The bedding arrived today and M is very excited about the horses so that makes me happy.  The rocking chair is one that has been passed down for generations and her Nana is stripping, repainting and having it re-caned.  It will fit better in the room with the larger bed as will the dresser, a gift from her Granny and Papa.  It is definitely a combined effort and we are so lucky to have so much help!

I plan to do the transition in the next month or so.  Wish us luck!! :)

Fall Decor

Long time no see!  Life has gotten in the way of blogging as usual but I did want to pop back in and share my fall decor.  I have been eyeing those boxes on Pinterest for our dining room table for awhile now and knew it was the perfect use for the barn wood from my late grandpa's barn.  The wood dates back to when the barn was built in the 20's so you can imagine it means a lot to me.  Jacob and I put the box together and now I'm excited to change it up with the seasons.

I did my usual of adding in cream hydrangeas with the white for a fall/winter feel.  I like that it feels different than spring/summer!

I did something totally different on the mantel and I'm loving it.

Better feel for the actual colors

This is my favorite of all my decor because I made it with M!  I let her paint (which she loves!) and then I simply cut them into leaf shapes.....easy and meaningful---perfection in my book!

Outside I did something different.  I got the box when I ordered something online this summer and have been hanging on to it ever since.  I love the height it adds along with another pop of color.

That's the majority of my decor this year.  I'm really loving everything I did, which doesn't always happen!

Happy Fall!
