Southern Living Idea House 2012

Hi all!

Have you seen Southern Living's Idea House?  It's pretty amazing so I thought I would share.  Built in Georgia and designed by several top decorators it certainly is easy on the eyes.

I love the gingham living room.  What is cool is that they have paired with Ballard so you can buy several of the pieces featured.  Click here for the rest of the pictures and to find out how to shop the house.

Nate Berkus

Good morning!
I hope you all had a nice weekend! Jacob was out of town for a majority of the weekend so I had plenty of time to rest and try to get rid of this cold, which is better but still lingering a bit.

One designer that most people have heard of is Nate Berkus from his appearances on Oprah, HGTV, and HSN. Here are a few of my favorite images from his portfolio found here:

I am in love with this rug and IKEA has a knockoff

I love the mix of fabrics and finishes in this room

Tufted chair.....enough said!

The pendants and cabinets are amazing

If you aren't aware, Nate Berkus has a line of furniture and home goods for HSN, which are very reasonably priced. Here are a few of my favorites all found here:

Tufted Headboard in a variety of colors only $349
I love this coffee table only $279
Small sofa $499 in a variety of prints and fabrics
Houndstooth throw $24.99
Lattice Sheets $39.99
Pair of pillows $19.95

Enjoy! Have a great day!

Nesting Newbies Magazine

Hi all!
I woke up this morning with a head cold. Boo. Anyway, I am hoping to rest today and be better by this weekend!

Have you all come across the Nesting Newbies Magazine in blogland? I read about it on another blog and terrible me, I can't remember where. I apologize that I can't give credit but all the snot in my head has pushed out vital information. Nice image, huh?! I thought so.

One of the stories in the online mag was about designer Emily LaMarque who is based out of West Hollywood and who started her career as a professional organizer turned interior designer. I highly suggest, especially if you are in need of inspiration that you head to her website and take a look at her portfolio....she's amazing!

I am in love with both living rooms, the kitchen, and dining room! I think I need a painting like the pug one of Tatum!!

Have a great day!

Jane Coslick

Good afternoon all!
I'm getting a late start on the blog but not because I have forgotten about you all. Our family left today and I have been knee deep in emails and getting caught up.

One thing my brother and I were discussing last night was how even though it hurts to be so far from home (Ohio) we have been fortunate to live a few very fun places. Atlanta was the first, then New Jersey with NYC in our backyard, and now South Florida with the beach 15 minutes away. A lot of time when we do have visitors of course they're coming to see us but also they're coming to get away and have a bit of a vacation.

A lot of images that scream vacation and rest to me are from designer Jane Coslick. If you aren't familiar with Jane please check out her work here and her blog here.

These images are only a small portion of Jane's work:

I love Jane's use of color and yet how she embraces white at the same time. Jane is a Georgia native with a few properties on Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah, which is where Jacob and I got engaged. Tybee will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I will leave you with a quote from Jane found here

There’s just something about having a piece in a room and knowing you won’t walk into the neighbor’s house and find the same thing, so surround yourself with objects you love. Don’t outfit your house to please the general public. If you would marry it, buy it.
