Nursery Ramblings

Hi all!

Ever have one of those nights were you dream about something over and over again? I did last night. I dreamt repeatedly about the curtains I plan to make today. Why you say? Well, probably because I'm flying by the seat of my pants, which works out about half the time when it comes to DIY projects. You see, I'm making the nursery curtains and rather than doing basic panels (that would be too easy) I've convinced myself I need to add a scalloped edging like the picture below. Damn that picture.

Here are some things you should know about me. I'm a great basic sew-er....(how do you spell that so it doesn't look like sewer?) I digress. Anything beyond basic, while I can do it it stresses me out.....hence the dreams.

Anyway, my project for the morning is making the scalloped part and then starting on lining 1 panel. Pray for me. ;)

If you can't tell I'm in a weird mood. I think the fact that I dreamt about the nursery and curtains and now I'm all stressed about what we still need to do in the remaining 9 weeks. Don't get me wrong we have all the major furniture in the room and the bedding is in route.....I should really chill out. Maybe it's the hormones.

After completing the curtains, which I may or may not accomplish this week (I'm waiting on fabric for the other panel) I am moving onto lighting. We have an overhead light on the ceiling fan but that is it in the room. I'm a big layered lighting fan so I think we need a table lamp with a soft bulb for the dresser/changing area for those late night changes and a floor lamp for beside the glider for reading books.

In today's post I'm focusing on table lamps. I need help ya'll. I am torn between doing something girly and cutesy and doing something more sophisticated. Here is what I have found although I don't love any of them the way I want to. Maybe I will once I chill out about the dang curtains. ;)

Flower lamp from Pottery Barn

Owl lamp from Target (I would replace the shade)

Nursery lamp from Babysupermall.com

Milk glass lamp from Pottery Barn

Sophisticated white lamp from Macy's

Fun shaped lamp from Jonathan Adler

Blue lamp from Jonathan Adler

Thoughts? Any other super cute lamps I should consider?

Thanks for sticking with me through the ramblings and I promise to work on the curtains so I chill out.

I hope you have a productive day!

Emily
